Wounded Blue Education Program

To facilitate the S.E.A.L. mission, The Wounded Blue has created a catalog of training programs and educational workshops designed for public safety agencies, Chiefs, Sheriffs, command staff, active-duty officers, peer support groups, LEO academies, private/public universities, and others concerned with the health & wellness of those sworn to protect our streets. Our curriculum has been carefully crafted to support The Wounded Blue issues of PTSI, abandonment, emotional/mental health, and compassionate care.
TWB Education Programs are offered on-site, with a hosting agency. They are ideal for annual training conferences or conventions. Instructors for The Wounded Blue are critical incident survivors and former supervisors who use their experience to bring positive change to our profession.

THE FOLLOWING IS A SUMMARY OF PROGRAMS CURRENTLY BEING OFFERED

WALKING WITH THE WOUNDED: A WORKSHOP FOR RESPONDING TO LIFE-CHANGING, LINE-OF-DUTY INJURY

An educational workshop created by survivors, for survivors to raise awareness to the struggles of an often-overlooked group of law enforcement officers – those who have been severely injured while actively employed. Attendees will hear firsthand how command decisions and agency policy can affect the vocational value of an affected member, bring stress to the member’s family, and impact agency morale.
Program Length: 4-6 hours

SUBSTANCE ABUSE/DEPENDENCY AWARENESS

Lecture Presentation delivered in partnership with our friends at Warrior’s Rest Foundation on recognizing the signs and symptoms of substance abuse/dependency in First Responders.
Program Length: 2 hours

EMOTIONAL SURVIVAL: SURVIVING AND THRIVING A CAREER IN LAW ENFORCEMENT

Lecture Presentation based on the research provided in the book – Emotional Survival for Law Enforcement: A Guide for Officers and Their Families by Kevin M. Gilmartin, Ph.D. The program discusses the current stresses present in public safety and what you can do to develop resiliency.
Program Length: 2 hours
